If you maintain a website, whether casually or for commercial purposes, you probably want to get as many people as possible to visit. For business sites in particular, hits determine the difference between success and failure. If you hope to get more traffic to your website or blog, you may want to think about submitting to some of the many web directories. Web directories, also known as link directories, are home to large, categorized lists of websites. Web surfers will often come to directories looking for a particular product or service. The categories can get extremely specific; for example, a person searching the Yahoo! Directory could click on “Recreation,” and then go through the subcategories “Outdoors,” “Fishing,” and finally “Walleye Fishing” before coming across the list of sites that they’d really like to see.

Webmasters are able to submit their websites to different web directories depending on the nature of the site, and the sort of directory they’re hoping to get traffic from. The different directories each have their own criteria for submissions. You can get a deal by getting a best of the web promotional code. Some of them have a free, open submissions policy, meaning that there’s no charge for review or listing. Free directories like these, such as the Open Directory Project, may be reviewed and maintained by human users, and therefore have their own rules and restrictions when it comes to website content which are not easily abused. It’s important, then, for webmasters to make sure that their websites are acceptable in terms of content and quality if they want to optimize their suitability for their web directories of choice.

Conversely, other directories might offer for-pay submissions on a one-off or subscription basis; reciprocal link policies whereby the website owner must place a link to the directory on his or her website in exchange for a spot on the directory; or a bid-for-position scheme, in which the highest bidder obtains the most visible spot within the directory. Some, such as Yahoo! Directory, the largest general web directory, offer a combination of free and for-pay “premium” listings. Some web directories deal with a specific market, such as those that deal specifically with e-commerce or shopping sites, or by geographical area, so even local, small businesses have an incentive to get involved in web directory submissions.

Submission to web directories, especially the big ones, is considered a useful tactic for webmasters. Although it can take time, it’s commonly thought to be a worthwhile activity, as the gains in traffic can be considerable. Be sure to grab a best of the web coupon code before making your web directory submission!

If you operate a website, whether just for fun or for commercial purposes, you probably want to get as many people as possible to take a look. For business sites in particular, traffic determines the difference between success and failure. One strategy worth considering is submitting to some of the numerous web directories available on the Internet. Web directories, or link directories, offer large, categorized lists of websites. Web users arrive at these sites looking for information within a given category. The categories can get extremely narrow; for example, a user visiting the Yahoo! Directory could select “Business and Economy,” and then click on the subcategories “B2B,” “Communications and Networking,” “Internet and World Wide Web,” “Network Management,” and finally “Traffic Management” before finding the list of sites that they’d really like to see.

Webmasters can submit their websites to various web directories depending on the sort of traffic they’re hoping for as well as the content of their own site. Each directory has its own criteria for submissions. You can save money by getting a best of the web promo code. There are some that offer free, open submission, under which there’s no charge for review or listing. All-free directories of this sort, which include the Open Directory Project, can be reviewed and maintained by human users, and thus have certain policies and restrictions when it comes to website content which are not easily abused. Website operators need to thus understand what it takes to make their sites suitable for submitting to web directories in order to get the most out of this process.

Some web directories might offer for-pay submissions for either a one-time or recurring fee; reciprocal link policies whereby the webmaster has to put a referral to the directory on his or her site in order to be listed; or a bid-for-position scheme, in which the top spots are awarded according to bid amounts. Some directories, including Yahoo! Directory, which is thought to be the largest general web directory, offer a combination of free and paid “premium” listings. Web directories can be specialized by category, such as those that deal specifically with e-commerce or shopping sites, or by geographical area, so it’s worth it to get involved in web directory submissions even if you have a small, local business.

Web directory submissions, most importantly reputable ones, is considered an important tactic for website operators. Even though it can be time consuming, since the impact on hits can be great, it’s worth checking out. Be sure to grab a best of the web promotional code before making your web directory submission!

Most members regard Google Adwords as an marketing bible. clearly there are the “better ones” who state that they have new and better ways to advertise without using Google Adwords and those similar to it. It may not be impossible , but for “normal” successful affiliate marketers like us, Google Adwords is a huge tool, and following are the best Google Adwords Tips.

Have a look at Google Ad Tips, for the greatest tips when using Google Adwords.

Google Adwords Tips #1 – The most significant tip is to make sure the ad is relevant, although it might seem to be common sense but it is astonishing that most people don’t do it.
For instance, if “New TV is placed in your ad to sell a Sony JKL TV it will not be related and so 80%+ people who click on the particular model won’t buy it as they might be seeking information while the ad of the product with “Sony JKL TV” will attract the prospective buyer and increase sales.

Google Adwords Tips #2 – The ad should be to the point , make a few ads if you have a number of keywords which should be linked to the site for achieving a high rank.

Google Adwords Tips #3 – The page sent to the person clicking the ad is also known as “landing page” or “pitch page”, this page should be relevant. There are many people who put up an ad on weight loss and saying something about “Getting 6-Packs in 30 Days” which is irrelevant to the viewers. A woman may surf the site to lose a few pounds and not to look for 6-pack in one month. Such ads will be responsible for the diminish of 50% of your ads.

Google Adwords Tips #4 – Many versions of your ads should be tested to find which one works best. At the end of the day what matters is reliability and getting more for your money.

Google Adwords Tips #5 – It will look very simple if you hunt for your result. It is important to see that what you’re paying for is not worthless .

What is link building about? Why are links so important? Why do companies use link building technique? The answers are quite simple and lie on the surface.

The link building is a process of creating inbound links to ones internet pages. In fact, it is one of the most effective and important factors getting to the top of major online search engines. It is the best way to make your site popular and attract relevant traffic.

One may think that the more links you have, the better you perform. In fact, it is better to focus on quality, not quantity. Choosing those, who links to you is as much important as how many link to you.

So, how to get this kind of links? In essence, there are two main types of links. Reciprocal link building occurs between two websites on one to one principle. You just need to find a website or online business you would like to link with, contact them and negotiate. This type of link building is easy, free and very powerful way to promote your company. It is a very good source to produce a targeted traffic and raise your original rankings.

One-way links suppose to link one site to another without providing any backlinks. In fact, the major popular search engines value one-way links more than reciprocal links. Good one-way links are very useful in increasing your link popularity, what matters a lot when popular search engines are ranking your webpages. Thus, the more quality links you have, the more popularity you get. The combination of both methods will allow you to bring visitors from the reciprocal linking website, while one-way links are important to your visibility and credibility.

Link building takes time, but treat it as a long-run investment into your business. Why link building is so advantageous for search engine optimization? First and foremost, it increases your traffic significantly and at the same time improves your online visibility . Secondly, high quality incoming linckage will assure high value to your site. Then, it also creates awareness of the website and retains the visitor flows. And finally, building links is beneficial in terms of finances.

So, link building form a vital part of any website promotion effort. The advantages of link building are huge. If you still think that link building is something difficult and frustrating or you would like to learn more about how to increase links to your website, consider to outsource SEO,  do not hesitate to contact a reliable SEO company, which is ready to  take care of  all aspects of your online business promotion for a very reasonable SEO PPC pricing.

Generate Traffic Video

An area you may not have considered being a source of decent traffic is offline advertising.

By offline I am talking about newspapers, business cards, trade journal magazines, etc.

This can be an excellent niche for your website if used properly, although you need to ensure you do your sums with this method quite carefully because the costs can be quite high, and it is easy to lose a lot of money if your not careful.

What you want to do is have a think about where your customer base hangs out when they are not online, what they read, etc.

It can be incredibly beneficial advertising your products offline, because most of your online competition is probably not doing it. To me this is just screaming “untapped market” !

To start the process, research popular trade magazines, periodicals, newspapers (specifically if there is a regular “section” for your niche market in a particular newspaper, etc).

For example, if your product is computer related, many newspapers have a computer “section”.

If you take the time to do this, you will find a number of different areas where potential customers can be found.

Now, obviously the process is a lot more complex for offline ads since there is no simple method of clicking a link to get to your website.

Rather, they have to read your ad, find your link, remember it and/or write it down, and then get to the computer and find the piece of paper and/or remember your link and type it in. In today’s fast paced world with most people having a million and one things on their minds it’s not an easy ask, so you need to make it as easy as possible for your potential customer.

Firstly your URL needs to be as small as possible, to reduce the chance typos, but also to make it stand out.

Which one of these links stands out for you?

joebloggs.com/affiliates/make-me-mega-bucks/overwhelmingtraffic

Versus: -

dollarsonline.com/special

I am sure you will agree the 2nd URL would look a lot better for the potential customer. Why not just make the URL getmore you may ask.com instead of the special? The reason for that is tracking.

Because of the investment required, you need to make sure when investing offline, that you carefully track the number of visitors arriving on your website. Probably the best way of doing this is to have a unique URL that you only use in a particular type of offline ad, and that is not linked from your normal website. E.g. Other parts of your website should not link to this URL (although it would obviously be ok for this URL to link to other parts of your Website).

By adding a sub-directory to the URL, it can give you an easy way to track the response for a particular ad or type of promotion. e.g. the /special in the above example.

Alternatively you could have used a sub-domain as follows: -

http://special.dollarsonline.com

Tracking where your customers arrive from is always important (we discuss this in future chapters in more detail) but in this case it’s imperative for you to know where they came from so you can make decisions in the future about where to best spend your offline advertising budget i.e. which offline ads are generating the best response.

I recommend the following with each campaign

  1. Have a unique URL for each campaign or type of offline ad
  2. Have a special offer to the potential customer that is only available if they go to that exact URL.
  3. To ensure that the URL you specify is not linked to from other pages on your website (and thus not indexed by the search engines) so you can make a special offer if required to those people (and only those people) who visit that URL. Remember that getting people to visit that URL helps you in tracking the overall success of your campaign.
  4. Offer a special incentive (discount, coupon, free report, etc) to all visitors.

How about sponsorship? This is where you get behind a local club or organization and in return you get the ability to place an advertisement in their newsletter, or a sign in the club rooms, etc. Club members tend to get behind their sponsors so if your product is of interest to people it could be an easy sell.

Whenever looking at generate traffic; we suggest you do some careful research first and try and use the services of professionals.

Something I have done in the past is to have a URL on my car and an attention-grabbing headline. Yes I have made sales from this, obviously not hundreds of visitors a day, but for a once off cost it can really pay off, stickers for cars are usually pretty inexpensive.

Visit local council and see if you can pay for an advertisement in their newsletters, or what about schools? Plenty of scope here so long as your product and/or information is relevant!

Give offline marketing a try; remember most of your competitors probably aren’t doing it, so it could be a goldmine for you. Increased web site traffic is but one of the benefits of using this approach.
